This collection of work is inspired by my love of collage and includes original paper collages, individual wall decals, wall decal collages and limited edition prints.
It Started with Photographer and printer Rob Reiter Printing small versions of the photos he was taking of my original drawings as something to measure the quality of the photographs. This eventually led to making collage because being able to use my own imagery gave the freedom to fully explore and it has become a process integral to my practice. The collages here are constructed from archival inkjet prints and Repositionable wall decals as I continue to play with the characters and imagery I had spent hours getting to know through drawing. I cut out individual birds, flowers, animals patterns in the wood grain and invert, repeat play with different groupings and embellish them to explore new relationships and create new stories.
I call them Reconfigurations.
